2largeapples (any sweet variety like Fuji or Honeycrisp)
1teaspooncinnamon
2tablespoonsgranulated sugar
1tablespoonlemon juice
1pinchsalt
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 225°F (110°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
Wash the apples thoroughly and remove the cores. Using a mandoline slicer or a sharp knife, slice the apples thinly (about 1/8 inch thick).
In a small bowl, mix the granulated sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt together.
Drizzle lemon juice over the apple slices, tossing gently to coat them evenly. This will help prevent browning and add a zesty flavor.
Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the apple slices, ensuring each slice is well-coated.
Arrange the apple slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheets, making sure they do not overlap.
Bake in the preheated oven for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the apple chips are crisp and dry. Flip the slices halfway through baking to ensure even crispness.
Once done, let the apple chips cool completely on the baking sheet. They will become even crispier as they cool.
Notes
Serve the chips in a rustic basket lined with parchment paper for a charming display. You can also garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon on top for added flair.
