Begin by boiling salted water in a large pot. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
In a blender or food processor, combine the ripe avocados, lime juice, minced garlic, basil leaves, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Blend until smooth and creamy. If the sauce is too thick, add a bit of the reserved pasta water until reaching your desired consistency.
Once the pasta is cooked and drained, return it to the pot. Pour the avocado lime sauce over the pasta and gently toss until every strand is well coated.
Add halved cherry tomatoes and toss again until evenly distributed.
Taste the pasta and adjust seasoning with more salt, pepper, or lime juice as preferred.
Serve immediately, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
